Elected Officials

State Rep. Kevin Hensley, elected in 2014, represents Delaware's 9th District encompassing Odessa, Townsend, and Port Penn. Alongside his legislative role, he operates as an Associate Broker at RE/MAX Premier Properties. Hensley's dedication extends beyond politics. He co-founded the MOT Charter School, served on the Appoquinimink School Board, and advocates for public education, notably securing significant state funding for school safety measures.

As a parent of a child with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), Hensley actively supports IDD causes, recognized with the "I/DD Champion Award" from Ability Network of Delaware in 2022. Previously, he worked as a Legislative Assistant to late U.S. Senator William V. Roth, fostering his passion for public service. In the House, Hensley serves on committees including Economic Development, Education, Health & Human Development, Housing & Community Affairs, and Veterans Affairs, in addition to contributing to the House Small Business Caucus. He is a proud father of two grown children, Julia and Ryan.
