A Message from the State GOP Chair Gene Truono

Delaware Patriots,

I am so excited about the future of the Delaware GOP! General Hank McCann (ret.) Mary McCrossan, Nick Miles and myself were at the RNC’s Summer meeting in Atlanta. The RNC did not disappoint. They provide a great platform for sharing of information and a roadmap to assist with a successful 2026 election cycle.

At the opening the Honorable Kelly Loeffler Director of the Small Business Association gave a warm welcome and laid out her agenda for driving small business development and registration through reduced regulation and financial support.

On day two we attended a recap from the Temporary Committee on Election Integrity.  The committee focused on the various lawsuits to ensure we have safe and fair elections.  The members voted to make this Committee permanent. We rounded out the day with the reports from the Budget Committee, Rules Committee, Grassroots Advisory Committee, the Committee on Faith Engagement and the State Chairmen’s Session with a panel discussion on what other State Chairs are leveraging to drive success.

On Thursday, we met for the Members Only Breakfast were other State Chairs to share the experiences that they had about running the State parties. The remainder of the day consisted of reports from the Resolution Committee, Executive Committee Meeting and the Executive Directors session which provided information for the State Parties Executive Directors and tools to use to assist the Chairmen on the day-to-day operations of the State Parties.

The true highlight of the entire week was to have our picture taken with our wonderful Vice President J.D. Vance.  His keynote address was inspiring yet warm and friendly.  He truly is the future of the Republican party.

On the closing day we started with a regional breakfast.  This was one of the highlights for me as most of the Northeast Region Chairs are in Blue States like Delaware and we were able to share our thoughts and ideas of how to develop our multi-year plans to make our states winnable for Republicans.

Much more to share as we are preparing for our upcoming September Executive Committee meeting.

All-in-all a very fruitful meeting with lots of ideas and tools to allow Delaware to hit the ground running in the race to the upcoming 2026 election cycle and beyond.
